Mt. Yaetake

Mt. Yaetake is famous for its cherry blossom season from mid-January to late February. Due to its subtropical climate, it is one of the earliest cherry blossoms in Japan. Located on the Motobu Peninsula in the northern part of the main island of Okinawa, it is located at an altitude of 453 meters above sea level, making it the northernmost mountain landscape of Okinawa. More than 7,000 cherry trees are planted on both sides of the 7-kilometer road from the mountainside to the summit, forming the longest cherry blossom tunnel in Japan, and has been listed as one of the “Top 10 Night Cherry Blossom Spots in the World” by Lonely Planet. At the same time, it is known as the “crown of Okinawa cherry blossoms”.
